A Unique Student Experience...

When students visit the NH State Cemetery, we provide an open learning environment that offers a unique historical perspective that is not available at other historical sites. The center and entire cemetery have been designed specifically for learning. Students may be able to witness a military burial service, depending upon scheduling. We usually obtain permission from the family in advance and the students observe in silence from a respectful distance.

Our Memorial Walkway holds over 90 monuments reflecting the various services and groups who served our state and nation.

Professional Development

In partnership with Rivier University Curriculum Development specialists, we help teachers who seek excellent local resources that provide a unique and historical perspective on the history of New Hampshire's veterans and the role they played in our nation's struggles from the late 1600s to the present day.  Our goal is to introduce educators to the resources of the New Hampshire Veterans Learning Center and the New Hampshire Veteran Cemetery.

If you are a teacher, librarian, administrator, club leader, or are just interested in learning more about how to leverage the educational assets of the cemetery and Learning Center for your classroom, please reach out to us!  vhlc@nhvca.org
